We are working to better understand and reduce our environmental impact through practical, evidence-led action.
This includes developing our approach to carbon accounting, so we can measure and understand the impact linked to our operations, utilities, travel, logistics and supplier activity. Establishing a clear baseline will help us identify priorities, improve efficiency and support credible ESG reporting.
We are also reviewing our approach to responsible packaging, ensuring that packaging choices, supplier claims and customer-facing information are accurate, supportable and aligned with customer expectations. Our focus is on evidence, transparency and continuous improvement.
Alongside this, we aim to embed environmental responsibility into everyday working life through colleague engagement, sustainability initiatives, waste reduction, recycling opportunities, environmental awareness campaigns and community-based environmental projects.
People and communities are at the heart of our ESG approach.
We want to create opportunities for young people and community groups to learn more about the food and beverage sector through school workshops, career awareness sessions, work experience and practical engagement with our people and products. This helps build confidence, awareness and future talent within our industry.
We are also committed to supporting colleague wellbeing and creating a caring workplace where people know how to access help when they need it. Our approach includes promoting available support, building confidence in wellbeing conversations and using recognised tools such as the Mental Health at Work Commitment.
Through volunteering, fundraising, product donations and charity partnerships, we aim to support causes that are meaningful to our people, values and local communities. Our framework identifies opportunities to formalise long-term partnerships with charities including Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, St Albans & District Foodbank and Youth Talk.

Strong governance helps us make better decisions, manage risk and operate responsibly.
Our governance priorities include risk management, clear policies and procedures, and monitoring and auditing activity. These areas help us ensure that standards are understood, responsibilities are clear and agreed ways of working are followed in practice.
We continue to review and strengthen our internal processes so that our policies remain practical, accessible and relevant to our business. We also use monitoring, auditing, feedback and improvement actions to support continuous improvement and provide confidence to our customers, colleagues and leadership team.
Our ESG framework is closely linked to our company values:
By connecting ESG activity to our values, we can ensure that responsible business is not a separate project it becomes part of how we work every day.
